Thursday, Feb 16 06:30 PM - Island wine - Hand's down the most fascinating and delicious bunch of wines that have been on my table lately have come from small islands. We'll taste wines from Sicily, Corsica, and the Canary Islands. You may not know the grapes, but you will recognize the quality. $30 for 7 wines, and the bragging rights of being in on one of the newest trends in wine. Reservations required.
Thursday, Feb 23 06:30 PM - Wine 102 - I cover a lot in wine 101, but we dont really explore some of the other grapes and regions that are becoming popular like tempranillo, Cotes du Rhone, and malbec. This class will be the same format as 101 with 2 flights of 3 wines that we'll talk about and compare for about 1.5 hours. $30/person. Reservations required.
Wednesday, Mar 7 06:30 PM - Vino Italiano! - This will be a four part class held every Wednesday in March on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. We will cover Italy's greatest wines and regions including Barolo Barbaresco, Brunello, Amarone, Taurasi, Chianti, and many more. This series will be more in depth than most of my classes and is intended for folks that want to gain a great deal of knowledge about Italian wine. $250 for all four classes, wine, plus a copy of Vino Italiano to study. The wines poured during these classes will be a higher caliber than the usual wines I pour during Red Slate Classes. $125 deposit to reserve your spot. The class will be limited to 12 people.
